Home Visits

Non-urgent advice: Notice

Please note during this current pandemic all home visit requests must be triaged by a clinician first.

The GP/nurse will telephone you and proceed accordingly.

We can provide the best standard of care at the surgery, where we have access to proper facilities both diagnostic and treatment. Seeing patients at home is less appropriate, less safe and takes more time. We may visit patients at home if they have a medical condition that prevents them from readily leaving their house. Such cases usually involve the frail and elderly or very severe medical conditions. We do not visit patients purely because they do not have transport to the surgery. If transport is a problem we can arrange a taxi to the surgery at the patient’s expense. Our facilities are suitable for patients with disabilities.

If you feel that you or another patient needs a home visit, please try to request this before 11:00am as we normally do visits between 11.30am and 1pm. Reception will ask for a brief description of the problem so that we can decide the most appropriate way to help you. Visits later in the afternoon will be carried out only if the problem is sudden, urgent and cannot wait until the following day.
