Mental Health Support for Children in Wakefield

1666 Wakefield CAMHS guide for young people v4 (2)

Aged 15-25?

We are “Teenage Friendly” accredited

We have chlamydia screening packs available in the surgery, and also participate in the C.Card scheme for condoms. The C card scheme is available for both registered and private patients, appointments are available after 3.30pm (and also all other times) to register you onto the scheme. Once registered condoms are available at reception (discretely!) on showing your card.

All of our Drs. Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Receptionists are bound by our confidentiality policy. This means that even patients under 16 years old can talk to any of our staff without parents or guardians being informed. Under certain circumstances for example in cases of abuse we may need to pass details onto other agencies, but we would only do this if we thought you or someone else were at risk of harm.

All of our staff will be happy to discuss any problem – and point you in the right direction of who you need an appointment with if necessary.

If you need the Morning after pill, or other emergency contraception (even if just to find out if you need it) please let reception know that this is what you need – they can then book you in quickly with the right person.

C-Card Scheme

Are you aged 25 or under?
You can get free condoms through the C-Card scheme.
Please ask a member of staff for more details.
