Our Doctors

Dr Beverley Soar

MBChB (Leeds 1997), MRCGP, DFSRH

Dr Soar has been with the practice since 2001. She values being able to work with families and has a special interest in children and family planning. She is a GP trainer, passing on skills and experience to the next generation of GPs. In her free time she is a Brownie Guider and enjoys musical theatre.

Dr Fiona Brownlow

MBBS (Newcastle-upon-Tyne 1999), DRCOG, MRCGP, DFFP

Dr Brownlow trained in Newcastle and graduated in 1999. After 12 months working in the North East she went to Australia where she worked in A&E and travelled. On return she settled in West Yorkshire as a GP trainee. Part of her training was at Station Lane Medical Centre, where she returned to in 2005 as a partner. She has special interests in family planning and women’s health. Outside work she enjoys tap dancing, cycling, and trips in her campervan with her family.

Dr Peter Gilmore

MBchB MRCGP

Dr Gilmore graduated from Leeds University in 2008, then after 2 years as a junior doctor moved to New Zealand to work for a year before working for a children’s charity in India and travelling. He moved back to Yorkshire and trained as a GP. Dr Gilmore has an interest in musculoskeletal medicine and does the joint injections within the practice. He has also now taken on men’s health and minor surgery lead.

Dr Carolyn Platford

MBChB, BSC Hons, MRCGP, DFSRH

Dr Carolyn Platford qualified from Leeds University in 2008. She joined the Practice in 2016, becoming a partner in 2019. She has interests in women’s health and contraception. Out of work she is busy with her young family and enjoys yoga and playing netball.

Dr Nia Lewis

MBChB, MRCGP

Dr Nia Lewis qualified from Leeds University in 2006. She joined the practice in 2019 and then most recently became a partner. Dr Lewis is a GP Trainer and really enjoys helping and guiding the trainees in the practice. On a weekend and in her spare time she loves sports and going out with her family on bike rides and walks with her family.

Dr Jonathan Cook

MBChB, MRCGP 

Salaried GP

Dr Jonathan Cook qualified from Liverpool University in 2015. He trained at Station Lane Medical Centre before becoming a salaried GP in 2020. His interests include MSK and joint injections. On a weekend he enjoys playing golf and running.

Our Nursing Team

Julie Cale

ANP

Julie Qualified in 1999 as RGN from the University of York , she then worked on a busy surgical ward and later in ICU at York District Hospital . Julie then took a post in a GP practice. She undertook further education at Hull University and York University to become a Nurse Practitioner, enabling her to be able to assess, diagnose, treat and prescribe for patients. Julie enjoys Horse riding , gardening and spending time with her 2 boxer dogs. Julie joined Station Lane in 2021 as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner
